Canon has announced four new entry-level models in their PowerShot A-series. Here are their specs:

- F3.0-5.8, 3.3X optical zoom lens, equivalent to 37 - 122 mm
- 2.5″ LCD display with 115,000 pixels
- Point-and-shoot operation, with Smart Auto mode
- VGA movie mode with sound
- SD/SDHC/SDXC (plus numerous MMC formats) card slot
- Uses two AA batteries; 500 shots per change when using NiMH rechargeables
- Comes in black, red, and blue
- Ships in February for $89
- 12.1 Megapixel CCD
- F2.8-5.9, 4X optical zoom lens, equivalent to 28 - 112 mm
- 2.7″ LCD display with 230,000 pixels
- Optical viewfinder (!)
- Live View Control mode allows you to adjust exposure compensation, saturation, and white balance without having to know what any of those are
- Creative Filters include fisheye, miniature effect, toy camera, poster effect, and more
- Records movies at 1280 x 720 (24 fps) with sound
- Comes in silver and black
- Ships in March for $109
- 14.1 Megapixel CCD
- Records movies at 1280 x 720 (30 fps) with sound
- More stylish body comes in black, blue, red, and silver
- Uses lithium-ion NB-8L lithium-ion battery, 280 shots per charge
- Priced at $139
- 16.0 Megapixel CCD
- F2.8-5.9, 5X optical zoom lens, equivalent to 28 - 140 mm
- Optical image stabilization
- 3-inch LCD display
- Even more stylish body (almost ELPH-like), comes in black, blue, pink, red, and silver
- Priced at $179
